The Food We Eat...
Hello. My name is Vlado and I am making this tape to tell you about a food I started using in October 1995. It changed my life in so many ways. The change that I like most was in my health. Another benefit was that, after reading numerous books on nutrition, I learnt about the food we eat and how it affects our bodies. Some of the facts about the food that I am going to say, you may already know. Some of them you may suspect, but some of the things will surprise you, and many will worry you.If the food wasn't sent to me from America by a friend, I doubt very much I would ever have used it. But she is a registered nurse and she uses the food, so she knows what she is talking about. She is a friend and her only motive was to help me with my health problems. But first, let me tell you how it happened that I started using the food.
I was a supervisor in a chemical factory for many years. In 1993 the company was restructuring its work force. All the middle management positions were made redundant and so, I lost my job. I was 48 years old and at my age it was impossible to find a new job. Two years later the money was running out, bills kept coming in, so I had to find some way to make money. I had some plastering experience, so I took a job with a gang of plasterers. I had to work fast, but my body wasn't used to it. Every evening I had muscle aches. All the time I was expecting that my body will get used to the work and the aches and pains will disappear. Several months later it didn't improve at all. Everybody was telling me that it is arthritis or just old age. I was taking pain killers, they eased the pain, but a few hours later, when they wore out, the pains returned.
Then, one day I spoke to a friend of mine in Los Angeles and I mentioned to her my problems. She sent me a jar of an obscure brand of Spirulina and told me to take 6 tablets a day. She said that it will help with the muscle pains. After a couple of days the muscle pains were gone. A few days later I didn't feel any pain in my joints. I continued taking Spirulina and every few days I noticed some improvements. Now my muscles are more movable, there is more strength in my grip and joints are more flexible. It is so much easier to get up from kneeling or squatting position.
My skin feels much smoother and it is less oily. My digestion improved and so did elimination. Another great benefit was drastic reduction in the odour of wind and stool. It is easier for me to fall asleep, and during night I hardly ever wake up. In the morning it used to take me about half an hour to fully awake. These days, about five minutes after waking, I am fully awake, I feel fully rested and fresh. I am more alert, I have much more energy, and I am in much better mood most of the time. Scratches, small cuts and bruises used to take about ten days for them to heal and disappear. Now they are gone in about 5 days. A cold sore was gone in less than a week.A few days after I started taking Spirulina I mentioned to my wife that all my muscle pains are gone. She plays tennis once a week and after each game she was muscle sore for a day or two, so she started taking it too. After the next game she didn't feel any tiredness or muscle pains and continued taking it. She used to have very dry skin. Her legs and arms were covered with a thin film of dried skin. She was using skin moisturising creams all the time, especially on hot and windy days. About a month after started using Spirulina she noticed she didn't have to use the creams any more. Every spring she used to have severe hay fever. Last spring she had it again, but it was much milder. After the last child birth her bladder control was slightly reduced. She would loose a few drops of urine when she was sneezing, or coughing, or laughing. She doesn't have that problem any more. She used to get constipated, but not any more.
Not long after I started taking Spirulina I met a nutritionist. I mentioned to her the effects it had on me. She wanted to see a typical analysis of it . When I showed it to her, she wasn't surprised and asked where she can get some of it for herself. She gave me a crash course in nutrition and some pamphlets. You see, till then I believed what the health authorities were telling us - that most of us get all the nutrients we need from the food we eat. I started to read some books about nutrition and I was stunned by what I learnt. There is a clear evidence that most people in Australia are malnourished. Do not confuse it with under nourished. This is the definition of malnutrition in one dictionary: "Lack of adequate nutrition resulting from insufficient food, unbalanced diet, or defective assimilation". In Australia there is no problem with the quantity of the food. In most cases the problem is poor quality of food, or unbalanced diet and in some cases defective assimilation. Many people equate eating well with eating a lot. The quantity of food that we eat today is much greater than it used to be, but it is not the same quality it used to be when I was a boy. It doesn't have the nutrients that our bodies need. Let me tell you now a few things about the food that we eat, and then I'll tell you a few facts about nutrition that I learned recently. It will be an eye-opener.Why is SPIRULINA good for the following health problems?
